In celebration of the 20th anniversary of A Meal To Remember, Senior Citizens Services of Metropolitan Atlanta presented an elegant, black-tie reception and delectable dinner, which raised more than $485,000. The magical evening was co-chaired by Marilyn Krone and Kathryn Arnett.
BNY Mellon Wealth Management, led by Regional President D. Jack Sawyer, Jr., supported A Meal to Remember as the Presenting Sponsor for a third straight year.
Honorary Chairs, Dan and Sandra Baldwin were recognized for their commitment to Senior Citizen Services of Metropolitan Atlanta and for their generous donation as a presenting sponsor of this year’s dinner.
The theme of this year’s A Meal to Remember was “The Best of New York,” featuring culinary creations by some of Manhattan’s most lauded chefs Executive Chef Christopher Lee of Gilt, Owner and Executive Chef Bill Telepan of Telepan, Proprietor and Executive Chef Terrance Brennan of Picholine, Jean-Louis Dumonet of Saks Fifth Avenue and Pastry Chef Eric Girerd of L’Atelier du Chocolat. The chefs traveled from New York to dazzle lucky patrons with their gastronomic flair. Michael Venezia of United Distributors selected premier wines to pair with each course.
The Grand Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead was absolutely stunning, thanks to floral designer Robert Long.
Hosted by Atlanta’s own Monica Pearson and Fred Blankenship of WSB-TV, the evening’s highlights included entertainment by vocalist Courtenay Collins and a live auction with Uladia Taylor. Monica got the evening started with a Broadway-worthy a cappella rendition of “New York, New York”, which received a standing ovation as guests took their seats for dinner.
Gracious and charitable guests that helped to make the event a record-breaking success, included Jada and Tom Loveless, Susan Forehand, Mo Akbar, Tony Conway, Steve Welsh, Merry and Chris Carlos, Tom and Carolyn Carroll, Carey Carter, Sally Dorsey and Herb Miller, John Mellon, Leigh Testa of Neiman Marcus, Lynne and Howard Halpern, and Sharon Umphenour.
